-As you can see Lucy and I spent our morning playing fetch and taking pictures. Today I got some great ones!
-Currently speed cleaning before Jordan's arrival then we have our concert tonight.
-I've been thinking about throwing out a challenge for May for my readers, in that they suggest ideas for my daily photos in a scavenger hunt type of way and I have to see if I can get the photo.
-Some of the photos are of the Academy in Vancouver, see below for a little history lesson!
The Academy in downtown Vancouver is a historical landmark; it was the tallest building on the West side of the Mississippi River after it's construction in 1863.
The first impression of the building itself is a good one-- it's a charming colonial-style brick building. There are three floors, two of which are accessible-- the third is the attic. Both floors are laced with windows and high arches, the railings of white wood. There is a walkway which can access rooms from the outside on the second floor, which makes for great photographs.
The original Academy-- marked by the smokestack which can be seen on the West side of I-5-- was once a very lovely building, and still stands today after a terrible fire in the 1850's. That building is the more charming of the two, with morningglory running all through the ruins.

I adore the picture of the little girls by the water! I love the idea of a challenge for your readers!
ReplyDeleteThe girls were so sweet in their tutu dresses and they were so excited to see the ducklings!
